It just wasn't our day: our Sutherland 5th fell just short against Gordon 5th despite plenty of fight.
With the bat first up, we compiled 5/151 from 20 overs. Samuel Jaques made an excellent 74 off 57 balls, a well-made fifty. Ethan Stoddart also got among the runs with 47 off 42 balls. Aaditya Pankajdavey did the damage for Gordon 5th with three for 30.
Our opponents knocked off the runs, finishing on 9/152 in 19.4 overs. Matthew Fahy top-scored for the hosts with 41. There were 32 from Jaeden Douglas for our opponents. Jaques grabbed three for 21.
Credit to the hosts, who played well. That's two losses in a row, but the team will keep working hard.
We'll go again.
