Despite a solid effort, our Sutherland 2 were unable to stop St George on Sunday.
St George set the target, making 5/163 from 20 overs. Alexander Parthenis made a stylish 52 for the hosts, a well-deserved half-century. Harry Scowen weighed in with 36 for our opponents. Kobey Freer was the pick of the bowlers, taking two for 21 off four overs.
Our chase ended at 94 from 17 overs. Arnav Raina led the way with 34 off 40 balls including three sixes. Max Robinson played a handy knock of 24. For the hosts, William Taylor took four for 12 off four overs.
Plenty to work on, and plenty to like.
