It was a disappointing outing for our Sutherland 2, who were undone by Eastern Suburbs in Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup & Kingsgrove Sports Poidevin-Gray Shield action.
Eastern Suburbs batted first and reached 7/173 from 20 overs. Matthew Moran passed fifty for our opponents, finishing with 84. Andrew Ritchie was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 31 off four overs.
In reply, the boys were all out for 154 in 19.2 overs. A classy 79 off 45 balls from Arnav Raina was the highlight. Mac Jenkins added a useful 26 off 18 balls. Marcus Atallah returned three for 24 for the hosts.
Not our day, but there's plenty to work with. We will be looking to get back in the winning column soon.
Credit to our opponents, and well played.
