It wasn't to be for our Sutherland 5th, who came off second best against Manly Warringah 5th away from home.
Manly Warringah 5th batted first and put 333 on the board from 49.5 overs. Hats off to Joshua Coyte, whose 129 was a polished century for the hosts. Steve Kourouche claimed a superb five-wicket haul, finishing with five for 73. Mitchell Searles claimed two for 23 as well.
In reply, we finished on 68 from 21.5 overs. Max DeCelis was the pick of our batters with 24 off 34 balls. Zachary Buchanan was the best of our opponents' bowlers, finishing with four for 11.
Credit to the hosts, who played well. It's been a tough run, and we'll be working hard to turn it around.
We'll go again.
